It’s been a moment since we’ve had these guys at Bonzai Progressive, but we’re delighted to see them return with their new Techno slice titled Thirio. Jon ManimaL and Magros aka metrONomes come from different backgrounds and having both spent time exploring music personally, they are able to join together and produce some stunning works in a unique way which shows off their personalities. They have taken their metrONomes Live Project on the road and performed with various artists around the world including. Since we last saw them here, they’ve continued to impress with tracks being released across various labels.

The Original Mix intros with a deep, rumbling bassline before punchy kicks and crispy hi hats come through, setting us on our way to the floor. Techno inspired percussions fade up alongside a haunting, android vocal. Tension mounts with the introduction of droning pads which beefs up the groove. A monster of a track that will not disappoint.

Thorin returns, fresh off the back of his stellar remix for Köschk’s Speak My Mind EP, with another superb remix. Thorin has been a longstanding member of the Bonzai roster for a long time now, he never fails in his endeavours, always providing quality music at every turn. We have no doubt this will continue and we always look forward to his latest offering. Here, the remix intros with a thumping kick drum and subdued hi hat. Thorin makes excellent use of that vocal which darkens the groove brilliantly. Expertly crafted percussion patterns stack up as some subtle musical elements come in. A firm, robust Techno offering that will definitely grab attention.

Bob The Groove is up next on remix duties after his last cut, Filling The Void, gained a great deal of support. Always the mysterious character, he lets his music do the talking, and so far, we’re thoroughly impressed. BTG is racking up a solid catalogue here at Bonzai and we have no doubt there will be plenty more quality sounds from him. On the remix here, BTG opts to take a hybrid approach with a solid, driving groove at the core. A chugging bassline leads the way as tight drums keep the rhythm flowing. Infectious analogue style stabs are joined by rising synths and teasing 303 patterns. A stomping track that is not to be missed.

Nacres is back, this time on the remix after his debut, Nano EP. Turkish DJ, producer Nacres got his first DJ gig at Taxim Night Park in 1994. After a bit of a hiatus, he decided to make a return to music in 2019, devoting his skills to producing quality progressive house and tech house. His sound is influenced by Tribal flavours with Jazzy house and Afro sounds coming through. Here, Nacres dishes out a scathing, edgy groover thanks to a serious, rumbling bassline and sweeping synths. Highly infectious and deftly on-point, the break throws up a mind-bending sequence which climaxes with those thumping kick drums and raucous bassline taking full control once again. Top-notch and a must have.
